Join NSYMCA to help make pet blankets for local shelters

For the 2nd calendar year in a row, neighborhood pet enthusiasts are invited to donate essential animal materials and create their possess fleece pet blankets for sheltered animals at the North Suburban YMCA’s cost-free Pet Blanket Making party from 1-3 p.m. Feb. 19.

The blankets and other pet provides will be donated to Wright-Way Rescue, Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter and Heartland Animal Shelter.

Final calendar year the event drew about 50 men and women, such as numerous neighborhood families who seen their volunteerism as the excellent prospect to do a thing good for the group jointly. With members ranging in age from 4 to 70 several years, a lot more than 70 blankets were being created.
