On-leash order placed for Tanner Park due to visiting elk herd

With so much snow in the mountains around the park, an elk herd has been generating its way down hunting for food for the past month. That herd has induced some traffic difficulties on Interstate 215 and Interstate 80 near Parley’s Canyon.
With Tanner Park near by, the herd has also built its way into the park.
“We’ve acquired tons of canine out in this article, and so there can be detrimental interactions with elk. We have had that occur in the earlier couple of months,” Tulian defined.
Salt Lake Town Mayor Erin Mendenhall issued the short-term on-leash order this 7 days to keep pet dogs from chasing them, both triggering the elk to operate back again to the interstate, or quite possibly injuring the pet or men and women.
